The TuLern CPD Programme

TuLern does. We write the courses, we assess the learner and we issue the certificate.

Every course ends in an assessment. The learner has to pass it before a certificate is issued, and the certificate records the course, the date and the score. It is theirs to put in a CPD log and count towards their CPD hours.

The mark means the course was assessed, not just read. A course only carries it when all three of these are true:

• it ends in an assessment the learner has to pass
• the pass mark is published on the course page
• it is dated

Every course starts from a problem somebody at work actually has, not from a syllabus.

We set the outcomes first: what the learner should be able to do differently on Monday. The content is then written to reach those outcomes and nothing else, which is why our courses are short.

Content is written and reviewed by people working in the sector it covers. Where a course covers a statutory duty, the wording is checked against the guidance it comes from.

Every course ends in questions. The learner has to reach the pass mark for that course, which is shown on the course page and printed on the certificate alongside their score.

The platform records the attempt: the answers, the score, the date and the time taken. Nothing is marked by hand.

A learner who does not pass can take the assessment again. The certificate carries the score from the attempt that passed.

A certificate is issued the moment the learner passes. It carries the learner name, the course, the date, the score against the pass mark, and a reference of its own.

Anyone can confirm it is genuine by entering that reference at lms.tulern.co.uk, or by scanning the code printed on the certificate. The page shows the course, the name and the date, and nothing else.

We keep the certificate record indefinitely, so a certificate can still be checked years after it was earned.

Continuing professional development is a record of learning you keep for yourself or for your regulator. Our certificate is evidence for that record.

How much CPD you need, and what counts towards it, is set by your employer or your professional body. We tell you what the course covered, that you were assessed on it and that you passed.

Our courses carry one hour of CPD. That is the expected time to work through the course and complete the assessment, rounded to the nearest quarter hour. It is printed on the certificate, so it goes straight into your log.

We review our courses on a regular cycle, and sooner when the law, the guidance or the practice behind one changes.

Learners get the version that is current on the day they take it. Certificates already issued stay valid for the version that was taken, which is why the certificate carries a date.
